The Trillionaire Rich List

In 1982, Forbes began tracking the 400 richest Americans, the Forbes 400 ranked the richest on net worth and started something that made us curious about how much the elite earn and where they rank on rich list.

Back in ’82 there were only 13 billionaires, a small numbered compared to the mega rich of 2017, with a mere $75 million needed to secure a place on the list. When that first list was published only 3% were from technology driven fortunes, with the majority of the wealthy coming from oil. Compare this to the 2016 list where the top of the list were mostly tech driven! But who would be on the trillionaire rich list?

Fast forward to 2017 and we have the Forbes Rich List aka The World’s Billionaire List, forgotten are the millionaires, it’s now time for billionaires. With tech giants such as Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos dominating the list, it truly is a new era of rich. So what’s the next step for these money moguls, it’s not a question of if, but a question of when are we going to see our first trillionaire and who will it be?

Clarendon have taken the world’s twenty richest people and analysed their net worth growth between 2016 and 2017, to forecast which will, if any, will hit the trillion dollar mark. Judging by the Trillionaire Rich List, the world could see it’s first trillionaire as early as 2023! Read ahead to find out who tops the future trillionaire list and which ones just didn’t make the cut…

Before you check out the trillionaire winners and losers, it’s important to remember that there are a lot of variables within this research and neither us, nor Clarendon can predict exactly what is going to happen in the future, but there’s definitely a chance that some of these lucky few could be on their way to twelve figure bank balances soon!
