The Business Show: Premier supplier to SME business owners

The Business Show is renowned for its assistance to the UK’s start-up and SME businesses, a commitment which truly sets it aside from other exhibitions, and on the 17th and 18th of November 2016, Olympia London will be home to the products and services vital to the ventures taking the first steps in their business journey.

The journey for a start-up SME can be a difficult one to navigate; a study released last year by the Office for National Statistics into the UK’s business population showed that less than half of start-ups (45%) survive beyond five years, whilst the RSA Insurance Group’s own study showed 55% fail to reach their fifth birthday.

Small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) are a crucial engine for growth in this country. The Department for Business Innovation & Skills’ report, published at the end of 2015, stated that 99.9% of the UK’s 5.4 million private sector businesses were SMEs, and employed a total of 15.6 million people, 60% of all private sector employment in the UK.

The combined annual turnover of these SMEs reached £1.8 trillion, meaning 47% of all private sector turnover in the UK was from small and medium enterprises.

If the UK’s SME scene is to thrive, more and more importance will be attached to The Business Show. Start-ups and SMEs will be closely examining the event’s collection of suppliers, essential tools and products, educational seminars and masterclasses, and incredible networking opportunities to help get their business off the ground.

As ever, The Business Show comes with some of the most successful and influential business figures to form the most incredible line-up of speakers. They will pass on their knowledge and experience to inspire and guide you on your own business adventure. Amongst the line-up of experts, leaders, and innovators essential for entrepreneurs and business owners to see are:

Touker Suleyman, the fashion retail entrepreneur and investor, owner of fashion brands Hawes & Curtis, Ghost, and Low Profile Holdings, and current star of the BBC’s Dragons’ Den. Touker will be taking part in an exclusive question and answer session, where he will provide details on his fascinating rise to become one of the UK’s most recognisable and admired business magnets.

There’s also Raja Sagga Google’s very own Head of Marketing who leads the customer acquisitions and B2B marketing in The UK and Ireland. Raja will be giving practical tips on how you can use digital advertising to solve challenges in B2B customer acquisition, growth and retention.

There are numerous live and interactive features to engross, entertain, and educate visitors, including the always popular Angels Den, Speed Networking, Business Connections, and much more.

The event’s networking opportunities are second to none. When you consider that over 25,000 budding entrepreneurs and business leaders are meeting under one roof, the chances of meeting a new contact are sky high. Features such as Speed Networking and 4Networking are amongst the interactive workshops designed to give you the best opportunity to bolster your contact list.

The Business Show will run side by side with Business Startup, and Going Global, which is specifically designed for companies looking towards overseas expansion, and for the very first time, the Foreign Direct Investment Expo, the UK’s most exciting exhibition and conference to connect ambitious business with the most lucrative locations.

The Business Show and all its sister events takes place on the 17th and 18th of November at Olympia London. Tickets are completely free and allow visitors to gain access to each of the aforementioned shows.
